The Gap Between 90% And 100%

Commit 100% effort. Don't stop at 90%. The 10% you hold back gives you room to fantasize; you imagine that if you just tried a little harder next time, everything will come together. Maybe it won't.
When you give your absolute all do you discover the true borders of your capability. You could give it your all and still fail. Only then will you realize that your 100% is still far from enough. At that point, you have no room for excuses.
To commit 100% requires more than just discipline or conscientiousness; it requires a specific kind of violence towards your own comfort. It is the courage to risk total failure. If you fail with your 100%, you could be shattered, broken, and crushed into pieces. You lose the familiar version of yourself. Then, you have to pick yourself up again and reform those pieces into something new. It takes an enormous amount of strength to go through all that. It makes you resilient. It forces your growth.
Jordan Peterson once said,
"There's nothing that's more adventurous than telling the truth. You have no idea what will happen to you if you tell the truth. And, so, if you're looking for an adventure, boy, that's an adventure"
I would like to slightly change the context.
You don't know what you are truly capable of unless you give your all. You don't know what will happen after you commit everything. It takes you on an adventure to find out.
